The Tathra Mountainbike Enduro is Back

For all you action junkies out there - the Tathra MTB Enduro is back! With some of the best MTB tracks in Australia and a weekend away at the beach - what better way to spend the weekend?! Now in its third year, the Tathra MTB Enduro has gained a cult following for its super flowing seaside single track, and its enthusiastic community spirit. The Enduro will be held across the weekend of April 27-28 in the beautiful Tathra on the Sapphire Coast.

The Tathra Enduro is a mountain biking odyssey that pays homage to the early coastal pioneers and captures the best of beaches, the forests and the mountains. From Tathra Beach, Ford's Farm and Thompson's Estate to the Kangarutha Wilderness and Boulder Bay, the event offers a rare opportunity to race along the coastline, tracking through reclaimed farmland and the stunning Mimosa Rocks National Park.

The event encourages participation of all levels of mountain bike rider, with races styled to meet those needs. Saturday's events include the FREE kids races of 1km and 3km, and the 10km prologue to the big race day. Sunday's races include the 20km Bundadung race, the 50km Goat's Knob race and the monster 100km King Nelba race.

The Enduro is blessed to have its event hub, and over 40km of racing trails located within a stone's throw of the Tathra township (and main beach). In 'family speak', that means you can ride from your accommodation to the start-line, race, and be back for an afternoon surf with the kids!

Another drawcard for MTB fans is the entry fee. In a bid to keep racing affordable, entry fees have not risen since the inaugural event, and as memento you receive a Tathra Enduro water bottle. In 2013 we've also increased the number and 'local flavour' of spot prizes available to all entrants - AND you won't have to wait until the presentation to see if you've won!

Sounds like there's never been a better reason to RIDE TATHRA!

Located on the far south coast of NSW, Tathra is a seaside town on the Sapphire Coast, which is 3 hours' drive from Canberra via Cooma or 6hrs drive Sydney, or an 7hr drive from Melbourne. There are also regular daily flights from Melbourne or Sydney via REX Airlines into Merimbula, and regular inter-city bus services.

PS: The Tathra Enduro is staged by volunteers. It is a not for profit event run by the Tathra MTB Club and CEFE. ALL funds raised are used for renewable energy projects and the development and maintenance of MTB trails in the town.
