Explore Royal Selangor Exhibits in Kuala Lumpur

See, hear and touch pewter through interactive exhibits at the Chamber of Chimes and Hall of Finishes. Learn how pewter is crafted at the Royal Selangor factory before getting some hands-on action at our fun pewtersmithing workshops. Make your own pewter bowl using traditional tools at the School of Hard Knocks or craft your own pewter accessory through the different processes of pewter-making at The Foundry.

After the tour, rest and relax in the cafe while enjoying delicious cakes and sandwiches. View thousands of pewter gifts available in the Royal Selangor store; indulge in Selberan's sophisticated and beautiful gold and diamond jewellery; and be amazed at Comyns's breathtaking range of hallmarked sterling silver.

The original Visitor Centre was opened in Kuala Lumpur in 2004. Located in its factory premises and only a 20-minute drive from Kuala Lumpur city centre, the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre is a must-see for locals and internationals alike.

Being a popular attraction, it has won the 2005 Best ASEAN New Tourist Attraction Award from the ASEAN Tourism Association and Best Tourist Attraction Award 2004 from Tourism Malaysia.

Guided tours are available and multi-sensory interactive exhibits educate visitors on the properties of tin and pewter as well as the history of Royal Selangor. Beginning in the Gallery, visitors learn how Royal Selangor founder Yong Koon and his family transformed the small pewter shop, Ngeok Foh, into the world's leading pewter company.

The Visitor Centres at Clarke Quay, Singapore and Straits Quay, Penang are smaller but maintain the key elements of the Visitor Centre experience: a guided tour of the gallery, the history of Royal Selangor, the properties of pewter, a pewtersmithing demonstration and the School of Hard Knocks.
