KARMA ROYAL GROUP LAUNCHES GLAMOROUS KARMA BEACH CLUB ON DENARAU ISLAND, FIJI

Fiji’s Denarau Island
Karma Royal Group has handpicked a stunning, white sand beachfront location on the tropical shores of Fiji’s Denarau Island to expand its innovative Karma Beach Club concept. The first club of its kind in the Melanesian territory, Karma Beach Fiji offers glamorous exclusivity, world-class dining and entertainment and an exciting new level of oceanfront enjoyment in an indigenous Fijian setting, while boasting of endless Pacific Ocean views comprised of the palm-fringed Mamanuca Islands in the distance and the most breathtaking, Karma-style sunsets imaginable.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be adding Fiji to our stellar portfolio of innovative, sexy beach clubs around the world,“ remarked John Spence, Chairman and Founder of Karma Royal Group. “Our beach clubs appeal to the global traveler who could be described as a ‘bon vivant’, relaxed, sophisticated and somewhat bohemian, yet who expects the best of everything. Karma Beach Fiji, designed around the concept of casual-chic dining and sophisticated fun and entertainment defining our beach clubs, and already blessed with its destination’s natural splendour, is no exception.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Wyndham on this opportunity, there is good synergy between the Groups, with both Karma and Wyndham focused on creating world-class experiences in amazing destinations.“ he added.

With a prime beachfront location at the edge of the internationally renowned Wyndham Resort Denarau Island, the design inspiration for the 400-square metre Karma Beach Fiji derives its roots from the traditional Fijian bure, ethnic bungalow-style dwellings typically made of wood and straw, blending authentic indigenous materials with cosmopolitan luxury, delivering the allure of the quintessential island lifestyle. Staying faithful to sustainable architecture and design inspired by Fiji’s beautiful coastline, the bure’s ceiling is all-natural thatch, with no artificial or synthetic materials. As an homage to the site’s previous incarnation as a traditional turtle hunting ground for village ancestors, vonu (turtles) of various colours and made of printed mangi-mangi (sennit rope) occupy the tops of the bures. The beach club has seating for 80 diners, while guests can also bask blissfully on an additional 24 stylish sun beds with umbrellas on its own private beach.

Karma Beach Fiji is poised to become a sought-after destination dining and entertaining hot spot for visitors and residents of Denarau. Mediterranean-meets-New-World cuisine takes centre stage, with an emphasis on abundant, locally caught seafood and a modern twist on traditional Fijian dishes. Karma Royal Group Food and Beverage Director and Executive Chef Raymond Saja has created a customised menu for Karma Beach Fiji, highlighting South Pacific specialties, including a contemporary version of Kokonda – a Fijian-style ceviche with coconut, taro root and local sweet potato stylishly served in a coconut shell.

Customized Chakra Signature Cocktails created by Karma Royal Group’s resident mixologist, Ioannis Gianopolous, complement the concept of casual-chic dining that encourages leisurely grazing and sharing during long lunches, while enjoying Denarau’s awe-inspiring views and incomparable island lifestyle. An exciting line-up of world-class entertainment, including international musical acts and specialty DJs flown in from the world’s nightlife capitals as well as traditional Fijian performers and eye-catching fire dancers, complete the Karma Beach Fiji experience.

Karma Beach Fiji prides itself on a personalized approach to service, with staff that are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the local area and ready to provide helpful tips and suggestions. All service is provided with a smile, led by a larger-than-life personable, local host who interacts with the guests to personalize each experience. Karma Beach Fiji is also well-positioned to cater to specialized private events with a well-trained, highly professional and efficient staff who can take the lead in planning and executing any occasion, from glamorous weddings and receptions to intimate cocktail parties.

From 3rd August 2013 onwards, Karma Beach Fiji is open to the public from 7am to 11pm daily. Entry to the beach club is free, although there could be a cover charge during special events and celebrations. Guests are welcome to use the beach club’s range of facilities and showers. The port, Denarau Marina, also known as the Gateway to the Mamanuca Islands, provides direct transit and access to day cruises, game fishing, island hopping and dinner cruises amidst the tranquility of a Pacific Ocean sunset.
