Pyrmont Wine, Food, and Art Festival

15 Days of wine, food and art bringing together Pyrmont and the Mudgee Region in Sydney’s premier dining precinct from 13 to 27 May.

Seven years after first causing a sensation, the Pyrmont Festival returns with a giant 15 day program. Guests have the chance to experience both the country charm of the Mudgee Region, coupled with the buzz of Pyrmont’s urban precinct, including a plethora of wine dinners and tastings, photographic exhibitions and art displays.

The highlight of the festival will be a two-day free headliner event at Pirrama Park on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21th May (11am – 5pm). This year offers the biggest line-up of Mudgee wineries ever.

An event designed for the whole family, with live music, local artists, rides and children’s’ entertainment and approximately 100 stalls where guests can meet wine-makers, participate in tastings and sample a broad range of fine foods

This year we introduce the Pyrmont Beer Garden offering visitors the opportunity to drink premium beer at a stunning harbourside location. Three independently owned Sydney based craft beer breweries will pour a rich array of lagers and ales.

A stage beside the Beer Garden will showcase local talent including the Pyrmont based singing sensation Hayley Jensen who first came to the country’s attention as a finalist on Australian Idol in 2004 and made a stunning appearance on The Voice in 2014. Her second recently released album debuted at number one on iTunes. Originally from rural NSW, Jensen has lived in Pyrmont for almost three years and is happy to be a local ambassador for the Festival this year.

Once again the popular Pyrmont Art Prize returns to the park. Launched a decade ago in 2007, local professional and student artists submit artwork on 12 inch square canvasses. Purchase art and vote for the People’s Choice.

Pyrmont Festival is a product of industry collaboration with Mudgee Region Tourism, Mid Western Regional Council and Mudgee Wine Association presented by Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce (PUCC) with the support of the City of Sydney. It is a unique opportunity for Pyrmont, just two kilometres from the CBD, to demonstrate its position as one of Sydney’s fastest growing tourist, creative, cultural and dining precincts.

The Mudgee Region is a 3.5-hour drive from Sydney in Central NSW, and is one of the state’s first established wine regions. It is renowned for its food and wine with more than 40 family-run boutique wineries, as well as excellent art, music, nature and history experiences.

On the edge of Sydney’s CBD, Pyrmont / Ultimo is Australia’s most densely populated suburb and the fifth largest centre of employment in NSW. Home to a number of start-ups and creative industries, these waterfront suburbs offer some of Sydney’s best urban dining experiences.
