A Night At Wareamah by Elijah's Kitchen

Chef Zach Green and Elijah’s Kitchen are bringing the Indigenous Culture to Cockatoo Island through food in collaboration with Don Tapa on Tuesday 6th and 14th Of March.

We are excited to invite you to join us as we celebrate not only indigenous food, but the stories and connections behind each dish.

The Indigenous name for Cockatoo Island is Wareamah.

We welcome you to indulge in a cultural learning and dining experience promised to delight. We’ve all seen Indigenous food become increasingly popular in Australian cooking, with bush tucker featured on menus around the country. But what about the stories behind that food? Every billabong, every beach, every forest track has it’s own stories. Stories about people, about culture, about food. Stories that people share everyday but that so many of us don’t have access to hear. We know that food is the great connector in all human life.We will be sharing the stories of how food is imagined, how it is gathered or caught, how it’s prepared and eventually shared. Why not share those stories in the spirit of promoting positive images of Indigenous Australians and understanding the ancient knowledge that has cared for this land for so long.

The nights will begin with a welcome to country and traditional smoking ceremony, followed by snacks, 6 course and some petit fours. Matching wines will be included with dinner. The degustation will be honouring indegenous food and traditions.

Tickets are limited For Both Events.
